Accident Benefits
These benefits are available irrespective of fault through one’s policy. Working with a lawyer is critical to ensuring your injuries and damages are properly classified. Incorrectly classified claims may not allow you to recover the total amount to which you are entitled.
Types of benefits:

Income replacement benefit.
- If you are rendered unable work as a result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident, you can receive up to 70% of your weekly gross income. The maximum weekly entitlement is $400 and has an initial duration of 104 weeks. If you are unable to do your job or any other that is suited for you, you may be eligible to receive benefits permanently after the 104 week initial period.

Non-earner benefit.
- If you are over 16 years of age and suffer a “complete inability to carry on your normal life’, you may be eligible for non-earner benefits.

Medical and rehabilitation benefits.
- There are 3 different classifications for coverage for these benefits. They range from a maximum of $3,500 to a maximum of $1,000,000 depending on whether the injuries are categorized as minor, standard, or catastrophic.

Caregiver benefits.
- You may be eligible to receive up to $3,000 per month if you need a caregiver to help you with activities of daily life.

Other benefits
- These include expenses of family members for hospital visits, reimbursement for personal belongings damaged in the accident, along with funeral and death benefits.
